A Geneva man was arrested Monday after police found a two-year-old child wandering unsupervised on Pulteney Street, officials said.
Walter A. Russ Jr., 47, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child following a citizen complaint, according to Officer Brett Hall.
Officers responded to the area after a resident reported seeing the young child alone. An investigation determined that Russ was responsible for the child’s care and had failed to provide adequate supervision.
The arrest followed a formal complaint and was not classified as a crime in progress. Authorities have not released further information about the child’s condition or custody.
