Huron Man Violates Court Order; Flees From Deputies in Wayne County

A Huron man faces multiple charges after deputies say he violated a protection order and fled from officers during a confrontation at his home.

Nicholas D. Stevenson, 36, of Ridge Road, was arrested on April 12 by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into a domestic incident that allegedly occurred in the Town of Sodus.

Deputies responded to a report of family trouble and determined that Stevenson had threatened the victim, violating both an active order of protection and the terms of his probation. When officers attempted to arrest Stevenson at his residence, he reportedly fled on foot. A physical altercation followed when deputies encountered him in front of the home.

Stevenson was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail. He is charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Aggravated Family Offense, Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, Violation of Probation, and Resisting Arrest.

He was held pending a centralized arraignment and will appear in Sodus Town Court for further proceedings.

The arrest was handled by Deputies C. Haapapuro, E. Ely, and W. Cody.
