A Penn Yan man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly driving drunk and attempting to bite a deputy during a traffic stop.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said 59-year-old Mario Feria-Morales was pulled over on Skyline Drive in the Town of Jerusalem around 8:55 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic violation.
During the arrest, Feria-Morales allegedly tried to bite a deputy in the ear, resulting in a charge of second-degree harassment. Deputies said he also failed to stop at a stop sign, failed to obey a police officer, and was drinking alcohol in the vehicle.
Feria-Morales was taken to the Yates County Jail, where he submitted to a chemical test. He was later released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in Jerusalem Town Court.
