Congressman Nick Langworthy of New York’s 23rd District voiced strong support Thursday for the House passage of H. Con. Res. 14, a budget resolution that he said moves the country closer to realizing President Trump’s economic vision.
The resolution passed by a narrow 216–214 vote and was amended by the Senate before coming to the House floor. Langworthy hailed the measure as a blueprint for fiscal reform and economic growth.
“This bill provides a blueprint for delivering historic savings of taxpayer dollars that eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse while protecting essential programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security for those who truly need it,” Langworthy said in a statement released after the vote.
He emphasized that the next phase involves crafting legislation that delivers tax relief to working and middle-class Americans, encourages job creation, and tackles the national deficit. “Now that we’ve cleared these hurdles, the committees will get to work developing legislation that aligns with our goals,” he said.
Langworthy also took aim at Democratic lawmakers, accusing them of obstruction and misinformation. He claimed that recent economic indicators, including falling inflation, lower energy prices, and stronger-than-expected job growth in March, show the effectiveness of the President’s agenda.
“Today’s vote gives us the momentum we need to keep building toward our new Golden Age,” Langworthy said.
