Residents in the Town of Cato will have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposed zoning variance during an upcoming public hearing set for April 16.
The hearing will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Town of Cato Municipal Building, located at 11320 Short Cut Road. The Zoning Board will consider a request from Denzer Campbell, who has applied for permission to build a new single-family home at 2502 Turner Road. Campbell is seeking a variance to allow existing barns on the property to be classified as accessory structures located in the front yard setback. The property is listed under Tax Map #57.00-1-19.7.
In a separate development, the Cato Town Board is actively accepting resumes and letters of interest for the position of Town Clerk. Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. Submissions can be mailed to Supervisor Charles Ray at the municipal address or emailed to catosupervisor@live.com.
The town of Cato, situated in Cayuga County, includes both the villages of Cato and Meridian, along with the surrounding rural area.
