Ithaca police seek information in pedestrian hit-and-run on Spencer Road

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian injured early on February 15.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Spencer Road just after 12:30 a.m., where they found a pedestrian suffering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The driver did not remain at the scene, and the pedestrian is currently receiving medical treatment.

Investigators have since recovered the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash. The Ithaca Police Department is continuing its investigation and is urging anyone with information or video surveillance footage to come forward.

Authorities have also released surveillance footage showing a light-colored sedan suspected of being in the area at the time of the collision. The vehicle is believed to have been visiting someone in the community rather than passing through.

Residents in the Spencer Road area are encouraged to check their home security systems or doorbell cameras for any footage that may help in identifying the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department through its tip line at 607-330-0000 or by submitting an anonymous tip at www.cityofithaca.org/ipdtips.
