Ithaca-based Trade Design Build has won the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s CO—100 Top Small Business award for 2026 and a $25,000 prize.
The architecture and construction firm received the award Tuesday at a dinner and gala at the Chamber’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., according to the Chamber’s announcement.
Trade was selected for the overall award after making the CO—100 list in September. The annual program recognizes 100 small and midsize businesses for innovation, growth and contributions to their communities, with this year’s honorees selected from more than 12,000 applicants across 10 categories.
The company also earned the top honor in the Customer Champions category, which recognizes customer service and engagement. The 2026 honorees represent businesses in 36 states and Washington, D.C.
Trade’s three partner owners — Gideon Stone, Michael Barnoski and Chris Willett — attended the event to accept the award. The company started with three people in 2016 and has grown to 35 employees, with about $12 million in revenue projected for 2026, according to the Chamber.
“We have designers, carpenters, and people in our woodshop that do such extremely hard work with so much soul, commitment, and pride — and this recognition is really a testament to that,” Stone said in a news release.
The firm combines architecture, general contracting, project management and custom furniture fabrication for residential and commercial clients, giving customers one team from design through construction.
U.S. Chamber President and CEO Suzanne Clark said the company’s growth reflects its work serving customers, creating opportunities for employees and contributing to its community.
