Cornell misconduct review opens with call for information from campus community

Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates is asking Cornell community members to share information for an independent review of the university’s handling of sexual misconduct, according to CNY Central.

A trustees committee retained Yates after a lawsuit alleged a woman was pressured to consume ketamine and raped by seven Chi Phi fraternity members in October 2024.

The review will examine Cornell’s response to those allegations, prevention efforts, investigations, disciplinary procedures and oversight of fraternities and sororities.

Cornell said its investigation led to student expulsions and suspensions, but no criminal charges had been filed.

Anyone with relevant information can contact Yates_CornellReview@kslaw.com, and the board plans to release the findings and recommendations publicly.
