State Police are investigating an act of vandalism involving two prison transport buses in Cayuga County, including one that sustained heavy fire damage.
Authorities received a report on February 19 regarding the damaged buses, which were parked in a storage lot on State Route 370 in the town of Victory. The buses, owned by a company contracted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS), are used to transport incarcerated individuals.
According to investigators, the rear section of one bus was severely burned, while a second bus was defaced with graffiti. The phrase “can you hear us now” was spray-painted on one side of the vehicle.
State Police have not identified any suspects and are urging anyone with information to contact NYS Police Troop E at 585-398-4100. The investigation remains ongoing.
