Stewart’s Shops to sell 5 stores after major acquisition

Following its September acquisition of Jolley Associates, Stewart’s Shops is selling five locations as part of an FTC agreement to address competition concerns. The deal involved 45 Jolley stores, but overlapping locations in Queensbury, Plattsburgh, and Manchester, Vt., prompted the sales.

Stewart’s spokesperson Robin Cooper said they are actively marketing the properties and have received strong industry interest. The company is open to selling the stores individually or as a group, aiming to finalize deals by May.

Despite the sales, 42 Jolley locations will be rebranded as Stewart’s Shops, expanding the chain’s presence in the region.
