Tage Thompson was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week after leading the Buffalo Sabres to a perfect 3-0-0 record last week.
The star forward racked up eight points (4+4) and a league-best plus-nine rating, marking his best three-game stretch since December 2022.
Thompson kicked off the week with his seventh career hat trick and an assist in a dominant 7-2 win over the Boston Bruins. He followed up by assisting on Jiri Kulich’s game-winner against the Nashville Predators before adding a goal and two primary assists in Sunday’s victory over the New Jersey Devils.
With 26 goals this season, Thompson leads the Sabres and ranks eighth in the NHL. He’s also one of just nine players with 26 or more goals in each of the last four seasons. Over his last seven games, he’s recorded 12 points (7+5), continuing his red-hot form.
