Romulus man punches hole in wall, prevents woman from calling 911; then lashes out at police in SF

The Seneca Falls Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old Romulus man. Officers were dispatched to a local residence at 9 a.m., where they found evidence of property damage and interference with emergency communication.

The man, identified as Calib A. Burroughs, allegedly punched a hole in a door inside the residence during the dispute, all while two children were present. He is also accused of forcibly knocking a phone out of the victim’s hand to prevent her from calling for help.

Authorities said Burroughs was uncooperative during processing at the Seneca Falls Police Department, refusing to comply with an order to be fingerprinted. As a result, he faces multiple charges, including two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, and obstruction of governmental administration.

Burroughs was transported to the Seneca County Jail, where he awaits arraignment. An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim and the children.

This arrest highlights the continued focus of law enforcement on addressing domestic violence and ensuring that protective measures are in place for survivors.
