Seneca Falls man charged with possession of stolen Pit bull

A local man was arrested Tuesday after police discovered he was in possession of a stolen Pitbull while assisting in an unrelated investigation, authorities said.

Paul R. Sturiale, 36, was taken into custody on January 28 after a Seneca Falls Police officer observed the dog at a residence during an investigation with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. The Pitbull had been reported stolen and was part of an active case with the sheriff’s office.

Police said the dog appeared to be in good condition and was not injured. It was turned over to the Beverley Animal Shelter.

Sturiale was charged with one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. He was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center to await arraignment.
