A Rochester woman who earned her Ph.D. at age 75 is continuing to challenge perceptions of aging well into her 90s. In a recent episode of “Connections with Evan Dawson,” Pat Ward-Baker discussed her dissertation, The Remarkable Oldest Old: A New Vision of Aging, and how it continues to shape her work combating ageism. Ward-Baker was joined by Margaret M. Joynt, Kitty Wise, and Mary Rose McBride for a broader conversation about staying active, engaged, and purposeful later in life. The panel emphasized that many older adults remain professionally and personally driven, guided by a strong sense of purpose and an “inner voice” that continues to evolve with age.
