A student-built home in Hornell just sold for $180,000 — marking the 13th success in a hands-on housing program, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune.
BOCES students constructed the two-bedroom house on Madison Avenue, giving them real-world experience while adding new housing. The winning bid topped the $165,000 minimum.
City leaders say the program helps both students and the local housing market. Work is already underway on the 14th home, set for Canisteo Street later this year. Officials expect continued interest from buyers.
