A Syracuse man was arrested Saturday after being stopped for speeding on Interstate 490 and found to be driving on a suspended license with his 14-year-old daughter in the vehicle.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Lonnie N. Spruiel, 42, was clocked driving 101 mph in a 65-mph zone under below-freezing conditions. The roadside investigation revealed that Spruiel was operating a rental car without authorization and with a suspended driver’s license.

The vehicle’s passenger was the only authorized driver listed on the rental agreement and held a valid New York State driver’s license.

Spruiel was taken into custody and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child. He was issued traffic citations and an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Victor Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
