Volunteer firefighters respond to two calls in one afternoon in Genoa

Just after noon, the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at State Route 34 and Myers Road, involving a box truck and service van.

Both drivers were unharmed. Crews secured the scene, while King Ferry Fire Department assisted with traffic control.

An hour later, Cayuga County 911 dispatched a second call for medical assistance in the hamlet. King Ferry Rescue and Southern Cayuga Instant Aid (SCIA) joined Genoa personnel to handle the EMS response. All units returned to service by 2:30 p.m.

The department thanked its partners for their support.
