Governor Hochul launches MWBE certification and growth initiatives

Governor Kathy Hochul announced two programs during Black History Month to support New York’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises.

The “Trailblazers in Business” Certification Initiative streamlines certification through free advisory support, while the Business Growth Accelerator 3.0 offers training for MWBEs in construction and semiconductor industries, expanding access to high-value contracts.

These efforts complement reforms like raising the MWBE purchase threshold to $1.5 million and simplifying procurement processes along with Microsoft AI-900 Practice Test Dumps. With over $105 million awarded through prior programs, New York continues to lead in MWBE participation, achieving a 32% utilization rate and awarding $12 billion in contracts under Governor Hochul’s leadership.
