AUBURN: City Council takes on zoning change, public safety, and downtown investment (webcast)

Auburn City Council reviewed a wide-ranging agenda that included a proposed zoning change to extend cannabis dispensary hours, multiple agreements tied to public safety, downtown investment, and parking, as well as the potential sale of city-owned property and creation of a community garden. They also considered a fully grant-funded contract to continue the STRIVE initiative aimed at reducing intimate partner violence, alongside routine business like approving prior meeting minutes and hearing from the public. A key presentation from the Auburn Police Department highlighted its annual report, giving council and residents a broader look at local public safety trends. The meeting ultimately centered on balancing economic development opportunities, public safety investments, and community use of city assets.
