Finger Lakes athletes train indoors for spring sports at Practice Time Sports

While the Finger Lakes remain cloaked in winter, young athletes across the region are stepping up their preparation for spring sports at Practice Time Sports, a Canandaigua training facility designed to help athletes maintain their skills during the offseason.

Chris Harris, founder of Practice Time Sports, emphasized the importance of staying active year-round. “We understand how important it is for kids to stay active and ready during the winter months,” Harris said. “That’s why we’ve designed our facility to provide everything they need to hit the ground running in the spring.”

The facility offers comprehensive features tailored to meet the needs of aspiring athletes, including two full batting cages, a pitching tunnel, and versatile turf areas suitable for baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and other sports. The indoor environment ensures training sessions are uninterrupted by harsh winter weather.

In addition to the state-of-the-art amenities, Practice Time Sports provides experienced coaching and clinics to help athletes refine their skills and build confidence. From improving batting averages to mastering footwork, the staff is dedicated to supporting young athletes in reaching their potential.

Harris underscored the significance of preparation for success in spring sports. “Spring sports require a lot of physical and mental readiness,” he said. “Our goal is to make sure kids don’t just show up—they show up prepared and excited.”

With its cutting-edge facilities and supportive environment, Practice Time Sports is quickly establishing itself as a vital resource for winter training in the Finger Lakes. The center caters to athletes with championship ambitions and those simply looking to stay active during the winter.
