Ontario County’s top law enforcement officials are taking local correctional practices to a national audience this week, highlighting the county’s approach to jail safety and transparency.
Sheriff David Cirencione and Chief Deputy Stacy Lambert are attending Axon Week 2026 in Nashville, where Cirencione is serving as a featured presenter on improving safety and operations inside correctional facilities .
Cirencione’s presentation, titled “Beyond the Walls: Creating Safer Jails for Stronger Communities,” focuses on how technology and integrated systems can reduce use-of-force incidents, limit contraband, and improve accountability within jails.
Ontario County was among the first in the nation to implement body-worn cameras inside a correctional facility, a move officials say has strengthened transparency and safety for both staff and incarcerated individuals. That early adoption helped secure the county’s role at the national conference.
Lambert, a former chief correction officer, is also participating in the event, bringing experience tied to operational improvements at the Ontario County Jail.
Officials said participation in the conference provides an opportunity to share best practices while bringing back new ideas to further improve operations locally.
