Ontario man arrested after domestic dispute leads to harassment and property damage

A Wayne County man was arrested following a domestic dispute that escalated into alleged harassment and property damage, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael P. Posato, 47, of Pear Tree Meadow in the Town of Ontario, was taken into custody on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Authorities say the incident began after Posato became upset with his ex-girlfriend for driving on the grass. It is alleged that he went downstairs and caused damage to her property.

When the ex-girlfriend returned home and confronted Posato, deputies say he allegedly spit on her, grabbed her hair, elbowed her in the face, and threw her to the ground. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Deputies arrested Posato and transported him to the Wayne County Jail. He is scheduled for arraignment in the Wayne County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court on January 5 at 7:00 a.m.

The investigation was conducted with assistance from the New York State Police.
