A Dansville man faces multiple felony charges following an investigation into a September incident involving gang assault, robbery, and the unlawful use of a firearm, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Jamie J. Wolfanger, 40, of Marks Trailer Court, was arrested on Dec. 19 after authorities determined that he and others assaulted a victim, forcibly stole property worth more than $1,000, and displayed a firearm during the incident. The investigation stemmed from a reported rape in the Town of Dansville.
Wolfanger has been charged with several felonies, including assault in the first degree, gang assault in the second degree, robbery in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, and conspiracy in the third degree. He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and is being held without bail.
Sheriff Jim Allard credited the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the investigation and subsequent arrest.
Wolfanger’s charges carry severe penalties, with first-degree assault, robbery, and criminal use of a firearm classified as Class B felonies, punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
