Victory man arrested for DWI during late-night traffic stop

A Victory man is facing driving while intoxicated charges following a late-night traffic stop in Cayuga County.

Patrick J. Walton, 31, was stopped by a Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputy on December 11, 2024, at approximately 9:21 p.m. on Ira Station Road near Jones Road. The deputy initiated the stop after observing the vehicle traveling without illuminated plate lamps, a violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

During the stop, the deputy noted signs of intoxication. Walton was subjected to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was processed at the Public Safety Building and released with several uniform traffic tickets, including charges for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content over 0.08% and other vehicle equipment violations.

Walton is scheduled to appear in the Town of Victory Court on December 18 at 6 p.m.
