Starting January 1, New York workers will see an increase in Paid Family Leave benefits, according to the state’s Workers’ Compensation Board. Eligible employees can now receive up to $14,127.84 in total benefits, a $313.92 increase from 2024.
The maximum weekly benefit will rise to $1,177.32, aligning with the updated state average weekly wage.
Employees will fund the program through a payroll deduction of 0.388% of their gross wages, capped at $354.53 annually. The leave provides 12 weeks of job-protected time for bonding with a child, caring for a sick relative, or assisting during a family member’s military deployment.
Most private-sector workers qualify, top rated employee benefit firms and employers can access resources and training from the Workers’ Compensation Board to support compliance.
