Police: Bath man found bloodied after breaking into Penn Yan business, now faces several charges

A Bath resident was arrested in the early hours of October 23 after allegedly attempting to break into local businesses while unclothed, according to Penn Yan Police. Ayden J. Decker, 26, was apprehended around 2:41 a.m. following reports of a suspicious individual near the business district.


Officers arrived on the scene to discover that an entry door window to a local business had been shattered, with a significant amount of blood inside the premises. Police soon located Decker nearby, matching witness descriptions. He was visibly injured and bleeding at the time of his arrest. Authorities allege that Decker broke the door glass, entered the business, and sustained injuries in the process.

Decker was transported to a hospital for treatment before being charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a Class E felony; criminal trespass in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor; and exposure of a person. He has been issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer these charges in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
