INSIDE GOVERNMENT: Auburn city manager talks future, wrapping up 2024 (podcast)

Auburn City Manager Jeff Dygert, appearing on Inside Government with host Guy Cosentino, reflected on two significant developments in his role: The passage of his proposed city budget and his upcoming retirement at the end of June 2025. Dygert confirmed that Auburn’s Mayor and City Council approved the budget, which he sees as a strategic step for the city’s fiscal planning.

Dygert also addressed his plans to retire at the close of the fiscal year, marking the end of his tenure as City Manager. The City has already named Jennifer Haines, the current Director of Planning and Economic Development, as his successor, and Dygert discussed how the transition is being planned to ensure continuity in leadership.

In addition to budget and succession topics, Dygert spoke on Auburn’s drinking water quality and took questions from viewers, offering insights into the city’s efforts to maintain a safe water supply.
