Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer SA is evaluating the market and new technology as it considers developing an all-new jet to better compete with industry giants Airbus and Boeing, CEO Francisco Gomes Neto revealed. While no formal decision has been made, Gomes Neto emphasized that Embraer is conducting studies on engine technologies and avionics to ensure it’s prepared for future demand.
Currently, Embraer remains focused on its regional aircraft, including the E2 jets, and the recently FAA-approved freighter version of its E190 model. The company, like its rivals, faces supply chain challenges but expects improvements by 2026.
Gomes Neto acknowledged that a larger narrow-body aircraft is not imminent but highlighted Embraer’s strong product offerings amid Airbus and Boeing’s production struggles.
