An Oswego County man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a knife at his daughter’s volleyball coach during a game on Sept. 23.
Nicholas F. Griesmyer was arrested two days later for second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, following the incident involving Central Square junior varsity coach Deanne McClellan.
Authorities say Griesmyer confronted McClellan after learning his daughter and others were benched due to “personality conflicts.”
He then allegedly pointed a pocket knife at her from about 10 inches away.
Griesmyer, who claimed the act was meant as a joke, later apologized to the school district and turned over the knife to police.
