The Finger Lakes Community College men’s soccer team ended their regular season dominantly, defeating Erie Community College 8-0 on Wednesday. The Lakers improved to 13-3-3 overall and secured the #3 seed in the NJCAA Region III North B District bracket, riding a nine-game win streak into the postseason.
Robin Giesing led the offensive charge with a hat trick and an assist, while Joao Antonio Rocha added two goals and an assist, continuing his stellar form. Defensively, Aiden Nelson recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season as the Lakers’ backline stifled Erie’s attack.
The Lakers will host the winner of #6 Jefferson vs. #11 Tompkins Cortland on October 23 at 6 PM. They aim to build on their offensive firepower and defensive discipline as they pursue a Region III title.
