The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-car crash in the town of Palmyra that left one man hospitalized.
Deputies responded to the scene on Whitbeck Road, where they determined that a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Dylan DePauw had crossed into the oncoming lane, causing a head-on collision. DePauw was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle was treated by EMS at the scene and released.
Authorities have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Emergency responders from the Wayne County Ambulance, East Palmyra Fire Department, Palmyra Fire Department, Newark Fire Department, and the Mercy Flight crew assisted at the scene.
