Savannah is set to enhance its wastewater treatment plant with a new disinfection system, thanks to nearly $1.5 million in state funding aimed at improving local water infrastructure.
The funds come from the state’s Environmental Facilities Corporation Board, providing the town with grants and low-interest financing.
The town also appointed Jim Gill as the new water sewer superintendent, who completed certification training to ensure compliance with the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced $665 million for water infrastructure projects statewide, emphasizing access to clean water for all New Yorkers.
