Casino revenue to eliminate town tax for Tyre in 2025

For the second consecutive year, property owners in the Town of Tyre will not have to pay a general fund tax, thanks to revenue generated by the del Lago Resort & Casino. The Town Board adopted a tentative 2025 budget on Sept. 25, which includes $2.4 million in shared revenue from the casino, allowing the town to forgo a tax levy.

Town Supervisor Elizabeth Partee confirmed that the revenue from the state-licensed casino on Route 414 will again eliminate the need for a town tax in 2025. Last year, the town also used $300,000 in casino revenue to reduce its county tax levy.

The Town Board will hold a budget work session on Oct. 9 to finalize the spending plan for the upcoming year.
