A 37-year-old woman from the Town of Marion was arrested Friday night following a domestic incident involving a child, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Veronica Smith, of North Main Street, around 10:30 p.m. after investigating the incident. Smith was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities allege that she made comments considered harmful to the child’s mental well-being during the altercation.
Smith was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and later held at the Wayne County Jail, where she awaited arraignment in CAP court on Saturday morning.
