Colleen Dillon, one of five defendants charged with the murder of Thomas Rath in 2023, has pleaded guilty to a reduced kidnapping charge in exchange for her cooperation in the case.
The plea deal, reached on Sept. 9, lowers Dillon’s sentence to 10 years in prison with five years of supervision, provided she complies with the terms, including testifying against co-defendants.
Rath’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in Tioga County after he was abducted from his encampment in Ithaca’s “Jungle” area.
Dillon’s testimony is expected in the trials of Joseph Howell and Angelo Baez, who face multiple charges including first-degree murder.
