The NFL announced Wednesday that Buffalo Bills edge rusher Greg Rousseau was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.
Rousseau recorded an AFC-best three sacks, including a strip-sack, while adding six total tackles in Buffalo’s 34-28 season-opening victory.
He became the first Bills player to record three sacks in a season opener since Ben Williams did in the 1983 season.
Rousseau has earned this weekly award for the second time in his career, with the other one coming during the 2021 season.
