A Canandaigua pit bull has been seized following an attack that left a father and son with severe injuries. The incident occurred last Thursday when the dog attacked a 43-year-old Rochester man and his 10-year-old son while they were walking on South Main Street.
The dog’s owner, 27-year-old Casey Murphy, had been ticketed earlier on August 19 for allowing the pit bull to roam unrestrained. Police say the same dog was involved in a previous attack on August 12 injuring a three-year-old child.
The Ontario County Humane Society now has custody of the dog.
