David Wagenhauser, Democratic candidate for New York’s 24th Congressional District, has secured endorsements from three influential labor organizations: the United Auto Workers (UAW), the NYS Public Employees Federation (PEF), and the NYS American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). These endorsements highlight Wagenhauser’s commitment to advocating for workers’ rights in Upstate and Western New York.
“We are honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of the UAW, PEF, and AFL-CIO,” said Wagenhauser. He emphasized his dedication to fighting for livable wages, accessible health care, and secure retirement benefits for the district’s working families. Wagenhauser criticized the district’s current representative, Claudia Tenney, for her opposition to raising the federal minimum wage and her stance against the Affordable Care Act, which he argues favors big corporations over working people.
The UAW, PEF, and AFL-CIO collectively represent hundreds of thousands of workers across the state, including professionals in state agencies, higher education, and various industries. These unions’ support underscores Wagenhauser’s alignment with the labor movement and his focus on improving conditions for working families in NY-24.
