This Saturday marks two years since Ryan Corbett, a husband and father of three from Dansville, was taken captive by the Taliban. His wife, Anna Corbett, continues to fight for his release, expressing disbelief that her husband remains imprisoned.
Anna, who recently spoke with Ryan for less than 15 minutes, is disheartened by the lack of visible effort to secure his freedom, especially in light of recent successful prisoner swaps. She has appealed directly to President Joe Biden and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan for action, with a meeting scheduled with Sullivan on August 19.
The family, missing Ryan at key life events, remains hopeful but urgently seeks answers. “What steps are being taken for Ryan’s release? What is our timeline here?” Anna plans to ask during the meeting, underscoring the dire situation her husband faces.
