The Seneca County Arts Council has awarded $500 college scholarships to two high school seniors, Abby Sherry and Lily Linehan, recognizing their exceptional artistic talents. Typically, only one scholarship is awarded each year, but a generous donation from an SCAC member enabled the council to honor both students.
Abby Sherry, a South Seneca Central School graduate, will attend Fredonia in the fall to pursue a degree in Music Education with the goal of becoming a music teacher. Lily Linehan, from Waterloo Central School, plans to study Art and Design at SUNY Oneonta for a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
The SCAC supports the arts through its scholarship program and Artworks Gallery, which showcases local artisans’ work and offers workshops for artists of all levels. For more information, visit artsinseneca.org.
