Emergency crews responded to a structure fire in the Town of Wolcott Tuesday evening that left one person injured and a home damaged.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. to 12850 Red Creek Road, where arriving personnel found smoke and active flames coming from a single-story residence.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished it shortly after arrival. One male suffered injuries related to the fire and was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Wolcott, North Rose, Rose, Alton, Red Creek, Savannah and South Butler, along with Wayne County EMS and Fair Haven EMS. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
