A Marion woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly shoplifting at a Dollar General store. Hayley A. Chappell, 31, was accused of stealing a can of Natural Ice worth $1.45 by hiding it among her purchased groceries.
Deputies arrested Chappell at approximately 4 p.m. after investigating the theft, which occurred earlier in the day. The incident took place at the Dollar General on Chaintree Drive in the Town of Marion.
Chappell was charged with one count of petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court at a later date.
