Investigators believe Thomas Crooks, the 20-year-old who tried to assassinate Donald Trump, used a drone to survey the rally site.
A law enforcement official told CNN that a drone was found in Crooks’ car, likely used to find the best vantage point.
The FBI is still determining Crooks’ motive. His phone contained images of Trump, President Biden, and several Congress members, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Crooks also searched for dates of Trump events and the Democratic National Convention, along with information about a 2021 high school shooting in Michigan.
