Secret Service criticism grows after Trump rally shooting

Former President Donald Trump was grazed by a bullet at a rally in Butler, PA. The Secret Service is facing criticism for how long it took to get Trump offstage.

Experts say agents failed to quickly remove Trump from danger. Richard Aitch, a close protection expert, said, “They stayed on that stage for over a minute. It was shocking.”

Some former agents defended the response, citing training protocols. “What you saw was muscle memory,” said Paul Eckloff, a former assistant special agent. However, others argue that Trump’s close relationship with his detail may have influenced the agents’ actions. Investigations are planned to review the Secret Service’s response.
