Obama has also been in discussions with top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, who privately warned Biden of a possible landslide loss for the party. Sources say Biden is now more open to stepping aside.
Despite these reports, Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz insists the president will remain the Democratic nominee and is committed to winning in November. Biden recently mentioned that only a medical condition would prompt him to consider dropping out.
