Three days after trying to kill former President Donald Trump, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks remains an enigma. Crooks, described by classmates as a quiet loner, left no clear motive.
The FBI searched his phone, computer, home, and car but found no clues. Classmates recalled him as smart but distant, with few friends and no signs of dangerous behavior. “He was just an odd kid who didn’t talk much,” said Liam Campbell, 17.
Crooks, armed with an AR-15, fired at Trump from a rooftop during a rally, wounding the former president and others before being killed by Secret Service. Investigations continue as authorities try to understand his actions.
