A Wellsville man died and another was injured in an ATV crash on July 4th in Allegany County.
New York State Police reported that Zachary J. Barnett, 25, was a passenger on an ATV driven by Jesse M. Bestine, 26, also from Wellsville. The crash happened around 10 p.m. on County Road 38 in Alma when the ATV swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and overturned several times. Barnett died at the scene.
Bestine was treated at Jones Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
