Millions in Bonds for Finger Lakes School Projects

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that $956.8 million in low-cost, tax-exempt bonds were issued in June to support 69 school districts across New York State. The funds, issued through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), will finance projects like classroom renovations, athletic field improvements, energy upgrades, safety enhancements, and technology updates.

“Providing the right tools and facilities is crucial for our students’ success,” Governor Hochul said. “This financing supports essential projects, creating inspiring learning environments while easing the financial burden on taxpayers.”

Since 2002, DASNY has issued over $8.8 billion in bonds for more than 350 school districts, helping refinance short-term debt for long-term, fixed-rate financing of voter-approved capital projects.
