The Montezuma Audubon Center invites families to enjoy nature with exciting events this June. Activities include guided hikes, bird of prey presentations, and bird banding demonstrations.
Join a family-friendly guided hike on Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. Families will explore a half-mile trail, spotting birds like the Great Blue Heron and Bald Eagle. A nature scavenger hunt follows the hike. Registration is required, and fees are $7.50 per child, $10 per adult, or $30 per family.
On Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m., learn about wildlife rehabilitation with experts Jean and Len Soprano. After a one-hour talk, enjoy a leisurely birding walk to see local birds. The event costs $10 for adults, $7.50 for children, or $30 per family. Registration is required.
Finally, on Saturday, June 29, at 1 p.m., witness a Purple Martin banding demonstration with Andrea Patterson from Braddock Bay Observatory. This event helps track Purple Martin populations and costs $7.50 per child, $10 per adult, or $30 per family. Registration is required.
