A herbicide spray truck overturned on Andrews Road in Canandaigua on Wednesday, causing a minor hazardous materials incident. The driver escaped without injuries.

Firefighters found herbicide leaking from the truck’s 400-gallon tank, prompting a Level Zero HAZMAT response. The New York State DEC Spill Response and Ontario County Hazardous Materials Team were called to assist.

Firefighters controlled the leak and runoff using absorbent materials. The T&R Environmental Emergency Response Team transferred the remaining herbicide to another tank. No hazards remain, and there is no risk to the public. The scene was cleared after nearly five hours.
